APO 100xOHR (NA 1.65) High magnification TIRFM objective, world record holder (Sep. 2005) in light efficiency and resolution with an unparalleled numerical aperture of 1.65. It allows extreme TIR angles and adjustments over a wide angle range. The penetration depth of the evanescent field (decrease to 1% intensity), which depends on the angle, can be reduced to about 150nm, rendering an exceptionally low depth of focus. Special highly refractive cover slips and immersion oil have to be employed to match the extreme NA. |
